Last Thursday, May 10th, was the debut concert of the Evanston Civic Chorus. I think we all were a little nervous about our first concert together, but we made it through. Kirk did a really great job of helping us relax and feel comfortable on stage. My favorite song was "Shenandoah." View more photosThe concert's theme of "community" was very appropriate, since that is what the Civic Chorus is all about. We're just a bunch of people who live in the same town and love to sing. Most of us just met in January, when we started rehearsals. But the more time we spend together, the more we learn about each other. We are beginning to appreciate our similarities and differences, our strengths and weaknesses, and the life experiences we each have had.
