ECC Performs at Museum's "Between Fences" Reception - November 17, 2007
Last Saturday we were privileged to perform at the Depot for the opening reception of the "Between Fences" exhibit, which is showing at the Uinta County Museum. In keeping with the theme, Kirk picked these songs for our performance:
Don't Fence Me In
Cool Water
Desperado
Wyoming
It was a very successful performance, thanks to a good turnout from the chorus members, a very receptive audience, and a little creativity by the "stage crew" right before the performance. Shortly before it began, I discovered that the very old piano did not have a music rack. I asked for some duct tape, it was provided, and I proceeded to create a piano rack by stuffing my jacket behind the keyboard lid and then taping it up. I'm learning that to be the accompanist for a civic group means performing on a variety of instruments in many different settings.
